Deepening Practice
The alumni platform is for past cohorts to practise self-mastery, stay connected, grow, gain access and benefit from the vast Traversing Liminality networks. The alumni have a membership of over 580 from over 17 African Countries countries and growing. Some of these young women are now based across Europe including UK, Ireland, and Scandinavia with others based in Canada, and South Korea.
The Alumni platform includes:
- Becoming Her Series – These are masterclasses delivered by external experts on topics like: navigating corporate as a black woman; personal finance; women’s health; personal branding; etc.
- In Her Words – This is storytelling platform that amplifies the voices and lived experiences of African women writers. It creates space for reflection, visibility, and narrative-shifting around the journeys of young African women.
- Regional Connects – locally hosted gatherings that bring Fellows and alumni together to strengthen community and peer learning. They create space for connection, reflection, and continued engagement with the Fellowship’s practices.
- Volun-cheers – This is a community-driven initiative that brings Fellows and alumni together through volunteering and shared acts of service. It fosters connection, purpose, and collective impact while strengthening a culture of giving back.
- Annual Global Liminality Walk – This is a 24,5km Walk to raise awareness to the many challenges that young African women face. It is an opportunity to join forces with, and reflect on steps that young African are taking towards a wholesome life.
- Annual Alumni Connect – This is an intimate gathering that reconnects Fellowship graduates and strengthens alumni community. It provides a space for reflection, networking, and continued leadership dialogue.
